Our Approach
We believe that woodworking can be accessible, educational, and fun for families of all skill levels.
Safety First
Every project is designed with safety as the top priority, with clear guidelines for adult supervision and appropriate tool usage.
Kid-Friendly
Projects are designed with beginner families in mind, with clear steps, safety notes, and age guidance so children of different ages can join in.
Educational Value
Each project teaches valuable skills like measurement, planning, and problem-solving while building confidence and creativity.
Age-Appropriate Projects
We carefully design projects for different age groups, ensuring they're challenging enough to be engaging but achievable enough to build confidence.
- ✓Ages 3-5: Simple assembly with pre-cut pieces
- ✓Ages 6-8: Basic measuring and joining
- ✓Ages 9-12: More complex designs and tool usage
- ✓Teens: Advanced techniques and creative freedom
Our Process
How we develop our family-friendly woodworking projects
Research & Design
We research age-appropriate skills and design projects that teach these skills while being fun and engaging.
Safety Notes
We build safety guidance into the guides: protective gear, hazards to watch for, and where an adult should take over.
Clear Steps
Instructions are broken into short steps with time, cost, and difficulty estimates so families know what to expect.
Ongoing Improvements
We keep improving our guides over time and welcome feedback from families through our contact page.
